We are Part of Something Enduring

When truth and love are dismissed, it is as if the soul of the world is wounded. History has shown us that the more something shines in its purity and beauty, the more it seems to stir the forces that seek to diminish it. Truth, sharp and unyielding, challenges and confronts, a presence that refuses to mold to comfort or convenience. It is steady and quiet, like the pull of gravity, anchoring the fabric of what is real. And though it may be shrouded, like the sun behind the moon in eclipse, truth does not cease. It waits in the shadows, enduring, steadfast, until we are ready to receive it again.

Love, too, knows its vulnerability. To be open and tender in a world that sometimes feels so hardened takes a courage that can seem exhausting. Love is not an easy way; it requires care, attention, and the willingness to hold space for both the joy and the pain it brings. It is like tending a flame—a dance between protecting its fragile light from being snuffed out and offering it the breath it needs to thrive. In times when unkindness feels overwhelming, when the world seems cloaked in shadow, it may feel as if love’s flame could vanish altogether. Yet, love remains, ready to spark anew when we give it shelter, fuel, and presence.

Today, if unkindness feels too heavy to bear, let it be a day for tenderness. Let it be a day to grieve, to reach out to those we love, to find one small patch of color amidst the grey—perhaps the glint of light on a leaf, a smile shared, or the familiar warmth of a hand in yours. Begin with what is immediate, with what lies close, and hold it as your own small act of sanctuary. Remember what there is to love and protect, even if it is just the small circle of life you can touch right now.

Saving the world all at once may be beyond any one of us, but saving something, someone, some place—this is within reach. Each small kindness ripples out, each act of truth-telling and flame-tending becomes a quiet, courageous resistance against the forces that would obscure them. And if we each carry this task, even if it is just a fraction of the light that can be held, then together, there is more than enough to illuminate the dark.

We are here today, as we were yesterday, just as gravity holds the stars and the earth, just as carbon lives in the green and growing things, and just as the sun behind the eclipse is waiting, ready to shine again. In truth, and in love, we are part of something enduring. Though bruised, though wearied, we carry forward. And this, too, is a gift.

BLESSING

May you find a sanctuary within yourself, a quiet, steadfast refuge where truth holds its ground like an ancient stone, unaltered by the shifting tides of the world. In this place, may you sense the deep weight of what is real, grounding and guiding you, as gravity itself does, steady and unseen. Let this truth, so often hidden yet ever-present, remind you that nothing true can ever be lost.

May the flame of love remain alive within you, a delicate yet resilient light. Even in moments when the world feels harsh or unkind, may this flame find shelter in the company of those who see and cherish you, whose presence rekindles your strength in quiet, gentle ways. May you feel their warmth like a soft hand over yours, offering solace when the burdens grow heavy.

When sorrow or unkindness clouds the day, may you be drawn to the small wonders that endure—perhaps a splash of color in the morning light, the simple touch of nature beneath your feet, or a familiar, loving gaze. Let these gentle reminders bring you back to what is tender, good, and worthy of your care.

And may you hold close the assurance that, while you may not change everything, your choice to tend even a small part of this world carries a profound and quiet power. In nurturing what you can, may you come to see yourself as part of a timeless current—held by something as constant as the sun waiting behind an eclipse. May this knowledge bring you peace, and may you walk forward, sustained and whole, carrying the gifts of truth and love wherever you go.

I love You,
Alma
